Score 94/100 · Drink 2028-2050, Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous, Apr 2024
The 2021 Riesling Muenchberg Grand Cru comes from Triassic sandstone with some volcanic elements from the nearby Ungersberg. The vines are 65 years old and made in stainless steel. The shy nose only gives subtle pear ripeness and some stone fruit with the merest edge of citrus. The palate is beautifully clean-cut, precise and delineated, as if cut by stone. Freshness pervades while a veil of phenolics lends even more backbone. The 2021 is beautiful, elegant, heightened, clean and fresh. (Bone-Dry)
