Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2025-2036, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a less complex bouquet than the Chambertin, red plum, mint, quite strong intense aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with red berry fruit, tea leaves, just a slight bitterness on the finish.

Fleshier and richer than the Chambertin, the 2021 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru delivers aromas of dark berries, petals, lavender and spices, framed by classy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, lively and generous, with a pretty core of fruit and a saline finish, it's a good effort.

Henri Rebourseau

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
