Tasting notes
The 1997 Romanee-St.-Vivant offers fresh, sweet red cherry scents, and a cookie dough, red fruit syrup-like character. Medium to full-bodied, rich, dense, and mouth-coating, this is a powerful, velvety, and persistent wine that finishes with loads of sweet tannins. Drink it over the next 6+ years. Deep ruby-red. Penetrating aromas of raspberry, violet, minerals and cocoa powder. Juicy, sweet and dense; harmonious from the outset. Rather gently styled for this wine, but the longest of these '97s. Finishes with suave, very fine tannins. Also tasted: Cote de Nuits-Villages Vignottes, Nuits-Saint-Georges Fleurieres , Chambolle-Musigny .
