Wonderfully dark, rich colour – the deepest of the lot. Quite dry and minerally on the nose. Lots of sweetness on the front palate but not integrated. Rather a good complement to the Cheval 1952 – shows just how good the Cheval is. Falling apart, acidity starting to dominate. Tannins a bit obvious and furry. The then owner Mrs J Rabier is cited on the label. Belgian bottled, 6 lots of 1 dozen bottles at £1000-1500 per dozen. (JR)

About the producer

Ch. l-Eglise-Clinet - producer
l'Eglise Clinet

Ch. l'Eglise-Clinet is one of the most unassuming wine estates in Bordeaux. You'd probably drive past it if you didn't have prior knowledge of its vinous output. There's no ostentatious gateway nor sweeping gravel drive.
