Tasting notes
The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino flows with a vibrant core of perfumed red cherries, spices, tobacco and earthiness. Medium in body, the wine reveals outstanding length and a polished, refined finish. The bouquet is not as clean or focused as is usually the case, and the wine will benefit greatly from being opened an hour or two in advance.

Deep, dark ruby. Immediate stewed fruit impression followed by smoky, savoury notes. Somewhat one dimensional at this stage, but good length. (WS)
