The 2021 Pommard 1er Cru Les Fremiers is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet berries, licorice, loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's rich and concentrated, with lively acids and a cool, classic profile despite the extremes of the vintage.

The 2020 Pommard Les Fremiers 1er Cru has another quite floral bouquet, although I am just seeking a bit more precision here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well judged acidity, not the most complex Pommard yet there is appreciable salinity on the finish. This should age well in bottle.
