Tasting notes
Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Intense, lifted cherry fruit with an undertow of spice (from oak?). Sappy, juicy aromatic cherry on the palate on a layer of fine gravelly tannins that go on and on. (WS)

The Francesco Rinaldi & Figli 2021 Barolo is a blend of fruit from the villages of Barolo, La Morra and Castiglione Falletto. It offers a savory side with spice and cured tobacco that frame a core of dark fruit and blackcurrant. This is a mid-weight Barolo with polished tannins that give the wine a finely textured mouthfeel. Production is 20,000 bottles.
The 2021 Barolo is fabulous. Dark and powerful, with tons of structure, the 2021 is a serious wine for the dinner table. Black cherry, leather, incense, tobacco, game and gravel confer somber intensity throughout. Driving tannins wrap it all together. This is far from an easygoing Barolo. Buckle up.
