The blend of the Clos Marsalette Blanc has shifted from equal parts Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc to slightly more Sémillon dominated and the 2015 is 65% Sémillon and 35% Sauvignon. With 30% of the wine aged in barrel, it offers a fresh, focused, beautifully pure style as well as terrific notes of ripe white peach, salty minerality and a hint of lime. You can safely drink bottles over the coming 3-4 years or cellar for a decade.

Von Neipperg's 2015 Clos Marsalette Blanc offers lovely depth, texture and consistency. Candied lemon, white flowers, mint and orchard fruit meld together in an expressive, appealing white endowed with tons of personality. The 35% Sémillon, blocked malo style and lees stirring give the wine much of its signature texture, while a dash of new French oak adds lift on the finish. This is a terrific showing.
The 2015 Clos Marselette Blanc is a blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon cropped on September 8 and September 14, aged in 30% new oak. It offers well-defined, light tropical fruit on the nose - grapefruit, peach and a touch of guava - though it is focused and well delineated. The palate is well balanced, although I was looking for a little more nervosité and tension towards the finish that just seems to saunter - rather than fan out with gusto. Good...but maybe this could have been better?
