Tasting notes
Score 89/100 · Drink 2014-2026, Robert Parker, Apr 2014

This wine typically reveals a masculine, dense, rich, concentrated style, and while the 2011 vintage has tamed those characteristics somewhat, this is still a beefy, meaty effort. The color is nearly opaque, and the wine reveals excellent purity and depth as well as an attractive core of deep fruit. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. It is a sleeper of the vintage.

On the border with Pomerol. Deep dark cherry red. A little dusty and shy. There's sweet fruit in there but it is crushed by the dry tannins. So dry and dusty on the finish. (JH)

Deep crimson. Attractive freshness and nothing exaggerated on the nose. Very clean and straightforward but very unsubtle. Good honest farm-made St-Émilion. With quite a lot of acidity. (JR)
