Tasting notes
The 2019 Château Leroy-Beauval is straight-up terrific, offering beautiful cassis and jammy black cherry fruit as well as spicy wood, tobacco, and spicy nuances. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it brings loads of fruit, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a pleasure-bent, beautifully made Bordeaux to drink over the coming decade.

The 2019 Leroy-Beauval has held on to its Margaux-like, floral bouquet, those violet scents complementing the vivacious black plummy fruit. The palate is ripe and sweet, maybe a little New World in style (in a good sense), with a touch of balsamic toward the finish. More approachable than out of barrel. Enjoy this over the next 6–8 years.
The 2019 Leroy-Beauval turned out beautifully. Red fruit, cedar, leather, tobacco and dried herbs build nicely in a Merlot-based Bordeaux Supérieur built on texture and depth.
The 2019 Leroy-Beauval has a clean, refined and refreshingly pure bouquet with high notes of cassis and blackberry fruit, subtle violet aromas lending it a Margaux-like personality. The palate displays more promise on the entry with fine-boned tannins and crunchy black fruit laced with a hint of ash/charcoal. I would just like more substance on the back end since it cuts away a little swiftly for my liking. But overall, this is a good showing and has promise. Two samples tasted, one demonstrating a little more juiciness and vivacity on the finish.
