Tasting notes
The 2018 Beaune Clos du Dessus des Marconnets is quite backward on the earthy nose, which features touches of dried blood and darker fruit than expected. The palate is nicely balanced with a fleshy opening, the fruit profile veering toward red fruit. Spicy with cumin and suggestions of orange peel, plus a hint of Szechuan pepper that leaves the tongue tingling on the finish.

Scents of raspberries, plums, potpourri and spices preface the 2018 Beaune Clos du Dessus des Marconnets, a medium-bodied, supple and lively wine that's elegant and sapid, with a pretty core of perfumed fruit, melting tannins and lively balancing acids. This has turned out nicely.
Sweet and biscuity – just a bit too sweet for comfort. Unless you are looking for richness specifically. Long and flattering for sure … but be a bit wary of the sucrosité . (JR)
