The 2013 Alto Adige Chardonnay Löwengang Tenutae Lageder is yet another stellar example of the French grape from the far, mountainous north of Italy. The wine is bright and luminous in appearance and the bouquet shows elegant tones of stone fruit, yellow rose and lightly toasted hazelnut. The delivery is clean and straightforward but the wine does not hold back in terms of length and persistence. This expression of Chardonnay is less opulent than others, but it leaves a lasting mark nonetheless.
