Castell'in Villa's 2008 Chianti Classico is striking in its beauty. Sweet red berries, crushed flowers, anise and wet stones are all woven together in this classy, medium-bodied Chianti Classico. The 2008 impresses for its overall balance and pure class. It is a terrific entry-level offering from one of Tuscany's most venerable properties.

Castelnuovo Berardenga. 100% Sangiovese. Mature-looking, medium ruby. Mature notes too on the nose, but not only. Savoury and with sweet core of red fruit slowly coming to the surface. Much more youthful on the palate with polished but muscular tannin and brooding fruit. Serious, for this level and with a complex but subdued finish. Cellar!
