Tasting notes
The 2017 Pinot Noir Akiko's Cuvée is a barrel selection of the best lots in the cellar. In this vintage, the Akiko's Cuvée is not as differentiated from the other wines in the range as it can be - likely the result of the warm growing season. Dried flowers, mint, crushed flowers, spice and cedar give the 2017 lovely aromatic top notes.

Pale to medium ruby, the 2017 Pinot Noir Akiko's Cuvée is scented of red and black cherries, dried herbs, dusty earth, blackberries, stewed black tea leaves and potpourri with woodsmoke and bergamot emerging over time. Light to medium-bodied with slowly evolving fruits and spices, it's framed by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy.
This has a very complex array of blackcurrant, blueberry and cherry aromas, delivered in quite a pure mode. The palate has a beautifully succulent feel and mouthwatering, fresh ripe-cherries. Super pure and focused. Drink or hold.
