The 2018 Meursault Les Bouchères 1er Cru has retained the attractive aromatics I found last year, offering honeysuckle and jasmine aromas, but even more intense. The palate is well balanced with a sappy entry, good depth and the grip that I find on the 2019. Good showing, although it might well be closing down.

The 2018 Meursault Les Bouchères 1er Cru comes from the second-largest holding after Roulot in the vineyard, some 0.65 hectares. It has an impressive and quite intense bouquet of orange blossom, honeysuckle and light jasmine aromas. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and quite saline in the mouth, showing good tension toward the finish. It does not quite "let go" like some Meursault Premier Crus, which leads me to believe it is holding something back for later. Don’t be afraid to cellar this for four to six years.
