Good bright medium red. Cherry, raspberry and rose petal aromas are accented by pepper and spice notes. Supple and moderately intense, with good floral lift to the flavors of red fruits, spices and herbs. Dusty tannins are on the light side but show a slight dryness owing to the wine's modest buffering material.

14-18 months in oak, about 40-60% new. Mid crimson. Very distinctive nose: rather like cherry cough linctus. Similar on the palate but with decent fruit weight in the middle given the overall lightness of the vintage. Juicy and fresh on the finish. Tannins just right. (JH)
(tasted from barrel; 45% new oak; 50% vendange entier): Bright, deep red with ruby highlights. Aromas of blackberry, cassis leaf, pepper and earth. Supple and open-knit, combining a cool medicinal quality with lovely subtle sweetness of primary dark berries. Complicating notes of pepper and dark chocolate on the suavely tannic, long finish.

Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most established wine producers. Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, it is the largest vineyard owner in the Côte d’Or with 130 hectares of vines.
