Tasting notes
Grapes were selected from 100% organically farmed sites across the Rheingau region and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Bright, off-dry fruit – very intense and driven. So much flavour for the low alcohol. Brilliant value. VGV (JR)

The daughter of two doctors, Eva studied viticulture and oenology in Geisenheim, and worked in several vineyards around the world, including Ch Cissac in Haut-Médoc, Dominio de Pingus in Ribera del Duero and Pepper Tree in Australia’s Hunter Valley. After graduating, Eva worked at the Tatachilla winery in southern Australia but soon returned to the Rheingau to work as J B Becker’s assistant manager. Producing her first vintage in 2006, Eva only grows Riesling on the steep slopes of Lorch in the Rheingau. Extra dimension of fruit on the nose. Smells biodynamic somehow! Very edgy acidity crinkles the tongue initially but the fruit that follows smooths it. Tastes dry overall. Certainly a comparison to many commercial whites. (JR)
The 2016 Rheingau Riesling Trocken is sourced in Eltville, Hattenheim and Kiedrich. It is a straight, juicy, finely racy Riesling from organic grapes. It's light to medium-bodied, pure, stimulatingly salty and provided with good ripeness and concentration. It's a modern Rheingau classic.
Dusty/rocky – even salty – lean citrus aroma. Almost more herbal than citrus with crisp, crunchy green apples. Very bright, dazzling acidity supported by a fruit inensity even though it is not a very fruity flavour. Sinous, clean-limbed, mouth-wateringly long. Intensity without weight. (JH)
