A Jean-Pierre Moueix wine. Very dark crimson. Heady red fruits on the nose. Neat sleek compact – absolutely not flashy but quite concentrated. Very dry tannins on the finish. Far from fleshy but well balanced. (JR)

Bright ruby-red. Currant and coffee bean on the nose. Moderately dense but on the dry side; one is aware of the extraction here. Initially the wine's tannins cut off its fruit, but with aeration this Pomerol showed a sneaky sweetness. Still, this should evolve fairly quickly.
