Tasting notes
The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a slightly riper nose with hints of apricot and white peach, but it is well defined and focused. The palate is taut and fresh with crisp acidity, fresh and sapid, although there is a little dilution towards the finish just when the wine is getting going. Consequently, it finishes on a flat note, which is a shame considering the aromatics. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru, which is aged in barrel, transferred into vat for blending and then back into barrel, has a cohesive and focused bouquet with orchard fruit and light orange pith scents. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, good depth and a flinty finish. There is good potential; however, I just need a little more on the aftertaste.
