Score 88-91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2018
Bright, pale yellow. At once more reduced and more minerally than the Corbins, offering a bright peach aroma. Chewier and showing more CO2 gassiness on the palate and thus harder to taste today, but clearly a more serious style than the Corbins. Larger-scaled and more powerful than that wine but without its early fruit roundness. Finishes with a touch of tannic austerity. The Corbins will be easier in its youth but this wine has more aging potential. As a general rule, Bitouzet ages his village wines in about 20% new oak and his premier cru in around 25%.
