If the Cuvée Carline nods to the Rhône, the 2023 Mercurey 1er Cru Pièce 13 is more unabashedly Burgundian in profile, bursting with aromas of cherries and red berries mingled with violets, rose petals and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and suave, it's deep and layered, with a concentrated core of fruit, beautifully sweet tannins and a long, resonant finish.
