2023 Chambertin

The 2023 Chambertin Grand Cru is matured in 75% new oak. This has a perfumed bouquet, quite floral like the Latricières-Chambertin with pressed violets infusing the black cherries and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, a fine thread of acidity and blood orange infusing the black fruit on the finish. I would just like a little more nervosité and red fruit here, but it does deliver a sense of elegance.
