Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2028-2038, Neal Martin, Jan 2025
The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a bold bouquet with redcurrant and raspberry, accompanied by a patina of new oak, though less pronounced than in other vintages. The palate has what you might call "good stuffing," very good weight and fine purity, with some wood to be subsumed on the finish. Fine, but give it two or three years.

From five parcels of vines in Les Crais, Le Creux Brouillard, Vignes Belles, Les Seuvrées, Aux Etelois. Average vine age 50 years. Cask sample. Bright crimson. Red cherries on the nose. More on the palate with just a touch of sharp redcurrant. All very balanced with low tannins and some fresh, lively acidity. Very solid and quite classic. (MH)
