Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2026-2033, Neal Martin, Nov 2024
The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée de l'Abbaye comes from a single parcel replanted in 2014 in Les Epointures. This offers gushing red cherries and kirsch on the nose, quite forward with veins of orange pith. The palate is balanced with fine tannins, open-knit and quite fleshy. There is light grip on the finish, which maybe needs just a little more Gevrey typicité. Drink over the next four to six years.
