The 2023 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is once again one of the high points of the range, offering up a pure and ethereal bouquet of sweet dark berries mingled with peonies, bergamot, rose petals and exotic spices. Full-bodied, suave and mineral, it's beautifully integrated and elegant, with ultra-refined tannins, lively acids and a long, floral finish.
Cask sample. Mid ruby. Restrained gravitas after the Charmes with less sweetness or plush open fruit. Dignified. Red and black fruits, red and black cherry, cassis. Savoury and serious. (MH)
The 2023 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very precise and mineral-driven bouquet, the limestone soils percolating through the pixelated dark berry fruit with just a hint of white pepper and licorice. The palate is beautifully balanced with supple tannins, wonderful weight and depth, and a vibrant, peppery, multi-faceted finish that holds you in a trance. This Ruchottes-Chambertin will knock your socks off.
