Cask sample. Sweet and spicy but without the layers of the Comte Armand. Dry finish. Falls away a bit. (JR)

It was Gérard Potel who convinced Jean-Luc Joillot to acquire a parcel in this vineyard, and even if it seemed dauntingly expensive at the time, it was clearly a great investment. Unwinding in the glass with notes of sweet cherries, plum preserve, minty berries and licorice, the 2023 Pommard 1e Cru Les Épenots is medium to full-bodied, velvety and sensual, with sweet tannins and an expansive finish.
