Dark berries and ripe strawberries on the nose, but there’s also freshness and light spice, such as cloves. Violets, as well. Medium-bodied with a beautiful texture and finesse. So creamy and velvety, yet always reserved and pretty. Needs two or three years, but already a joy to taste.

Including some declassified premier cru fruit, the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village exhibits notes of plums, raspberries and cherries, followed by a medium-bodied, fleshy and textural palate with a succulent core of fruit framed by powdery tannins.
A glowing crimson purple. A little spicy touch to the nose. Bright fruit, with just a touch of the earthiness in the texture, very mild. A fine long finish on pure raspberry/strawberry fruit.
About the producer
Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
