Score 89/100 · Drink 2019-2025, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2018
A lusty, old-fashioned white Burgundy, the 2016 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru exhibits a rich, exotic bouquet of orange blossom, honeycomb, preserved citrus and mandarin oil, liberally framed by spicy new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, expansive and oily, unctuously textural and quite marked by its time in new wood. I'd love to see this wine—which hails from a parcel adjacent to Domaine Coche-Dury's—raised in demi-muids or in used barrels to bring more tension and subtly.
