2023 Volnay Les Pitures

The 2023 Volnay Les Pitures 1er Cru has a harmonious bouquet, boasting attractive violet and peony scents that combine nicely with the predominantly dark plummy fruit and fine mineralité . The palate is well balanced with ample grip, demonstrating much more precision than the previous vintage and perhaps more composure and sensuality than the Clos des Chênes. Leaning a little toward a richer style of Volnay, this will need three or four years in bottle, but it is very promising.
