The 2021 Condrieu Les Terrasses de L'Empire delights with vivid spring blossom, apricot, white peach, quince and pear aromatics. Round and inviting, this is a medium- to full-bodied Condrieu with plenty of substance. Although the freshness is well-captured, I would wish for a little jolt of additional acidity. Still, this is a fantastic Condrieu that Vernay fans should try to get their hands on.

The only 2021 Condrieu in bottle, the 2021 Condrieu Les Terrasses De L'Empire brings real concentration and depth, with medium-bodied aromas and flavors of ripe white peach, honeyed flowers, spice, and a touch of crushed stone. It's nicely textured, balanced, has integrated acidity, and shows the class and quality that this estate seems to always deliver.
About the producer
A legendary name, Domaine Georges Vernay crafts some of the finest whites in the world, having championed Condrieu when it was on the brink of extinction. The estate is best known for its single-site Coteau de Vernon Condrieu and is now in the hands of the third and fourth generation of the family.
