(these 61-year-old vines, which Charlopin described as "my age," avoided the frost but produced just 35 hectoliters per hectare): Bright ruby-red. Compelling, vibrant aromas of dark berries, violet and gunflint. Delivers captivating sweetness but also terrific energy and a filigree texture, with the wine's moderate acidity accentuated by minerality. Impeccably balanced, youthfully taut Clos Saint-Denis with superb concentration and subtle length.
