Bright violet. Aromas of fresh dark berries, violet and smoky minerals pick up a spicy nuance as the wine opens up. Gently sweet and pliant in the mouth, offering juicy boysenberry and black raspberry flavors that put on weight and take on an earthy aspect on the back half. Finishes sappy and smooth, displaying very good persistence and fine-grained tannins that sneak in slowly.

A sweet bouquet of red cherries, grilled meats and strawberries introduces the 2017 Brouilly, a medium to full-bodied, satiny wine with a succulent core of fruit, tangy acids and melting tannins. Brouilly can sometimes be rustic, but Cotton’s is pure pleasure.
