Tasting notes
Picked earlier than usual, the 2022 La Patache has turned out very well, evoking aromas of dark cherries, iris, cassis and flowers mingled with delicate spicy notes. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and layered, it has a sweet entry, good depth at the core and velvety tannins that segue into a long, delicate and charming finish.

Damp earth, ripe black cherries, violets, and spicy, leathery nuances all emerge from the 2022 Château La Patache, another beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied Pomerol in the vintage. It has ripe, polished, balanced tannins, rock-solid balance, and outstanding length.
The 2022 La Patache opened up on the nose since I tasted it from barrel, offering blackberry and wild hedgerow tones, with strong cedar scents developing. The palate is medium-bodied and quite elegant in style, with fine tannins and touches of mocha toward the finish. Drink this over the next six to eight years.
Bright dark fruits, leafy rosebud and dark pepper spices, cracked fennel and cloves on the finish. Harvest September 2 to 19, 30% new oak for ageing, 2.62ha of clay and gravel soils.
