Score 90/100 · Drink 2014-2020, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2013 Peter Max Pinot Noir comes from three vineyards including a new vineyard “Mabalel” and is matured in 10% new oak. It has a generous, quite fleshy nose with red plum, mulberry and wilted rose petal aromas that show great detail. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, crisp acidity, with an almost Beaujolais-like exuberance and joie-de-vivre (implied in a positive sense – think fine Moulin-à-Vent.) This is one to check out.
