Tasting notes
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru has a slightly cumbersome reduction on the nose, but displays good intensity. It coalesces with conviction after 10-15 minutes in the glass. The palate is very promising, with fine bone tannins, a more-or-less perfect line of acidity, ample salinity and plenty of horsepower on the lingering, grippy, lightly spiced finish. This is a complex and intellectually-satisfying Pucelles for long-term consideration. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

A super-elegant Puligny-Montrachet with a very fine tannin and mineral structure. Still tightly wound, the peach and citrus aromas expanding as it aerates in the glass. Just a hint of fresh pineapple. Then comes the very long and precise finish that has delightful delicacy. Drink or hold.
