Tasting notes
Vinfolio, Nov 2024

This site is on the border with Vosne-Romanée, next to Malconsorts and above Boudots, steep and with relatively high altitude, it’s a cool vineyard that winemaker Jérôme Flous feels is benefiting from climate change. The 2023 is so pretty – singing with purple berry fruit and dainty florals. The wine is lithe and mouth-watering, managing to be both chalky and creamy in texture, with a lush and juicy fruit. Layers of red and black berries create lovely balance, with a seductive mouth-feel (speaking of its proximity to Malconsorts) and a long finish scented with violets.

Cask sample. Still more youthful than the Porrets with sandy tannins in evidence on the end. Still fairly embryonic. (JR)
