Score 89/100 · Drink 2018-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2018
The 2012 Barolo Riserva Lazzarito shows the slightly more mature profile of a wine that spent extended time in barrel. Sweet tobacco, orange peel, mint, dried cherry, rosemary and dried flowers are all nicely delineated. The 2012 is undoubtedly an attractive wine, although it does taste older than it is.

The 2012 Barolo Riserva Lazzarito is the standout wine among this group of new releases from Ettore Germano. This wine is polished and firm. The tannins are neatly woven into the somewhat thicker and denser fruit revealed in this warm vintage. The bouquet offers dried berries and cassis with smoke, tar and anise seed. Only 5,500 bottles were produced.
