Elegant and finesse driven (a hallmark of the estate), with beautiful violet, iron, smoked meat, peppercorn, and spiced red fruits, the 2006 Domaine Jasmin Côte-Rôtie comes from 11 different plots that are spread across the appellation. Showing the more delicate side of both the region, and vintage, this fleshes out with air, showing a medium bodied, silky personality, juicy acidity, and a powerful, long finish that has you coming back for another sip. Delicious now, and hard to put down, I would consume bottle over the coming 10-12 years.

Light and fresh and scented. (JR)
Vivid red color. Impressively complex bouquet of spicy red berries, kirsch, potpourri, Asian spices and minerals. In the mouth, the spice and mineral quality complement the wine's sweet raspberry, candied cherry and currant flavors. Slow-mounting, fine-grained tannins add support to the long, brisk finish. A quintessential Cote-Rotie, emphasizing finesse and focus over brute force. I've always liked the graceful, Burgundian qualities of this estate's wines and this wine is a textbook example of that style.
Deep red. Spicy red berry and cherry scents with complicating floral, licorice and mineral qualities. Bitter cherry and sweet raspberry on the palate, with deeper olive and smoked meat adding a rich quality. Finishes with bright mineral snap and a strong echo of fresh raspberry. This will drink well young.
