2020 Clos Vougeot

The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a very fine bouquet, leaning slightly more towards black fruit, with hints of forest floor and white pepper, very cohesive and concentrated. The more time this spends in the glass, the more finessed it seems. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, fleshy and ripe, beautifully integrated oak, satin-textured with perfect acidity. Utterly seductive from start to finish, this is an outstanding Clos de Vougeot; frankly, I would never have guessed that it would come from this producer. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
