A blend of 90% Grenache Noir, 4% Mourvèdre, 4% Syrah, 1% Vaccarèse and 1% Counoise, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape La Dame Voyageuse reveals a complex, elegant bouquet of violet, licorice, dark wild berries, spices and dark cherries. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and layered, it's perfectly balanced with a seamless texture and a delicate, round mid-palate that segues into a long, delicate finish. More elegant than dense, it was matured for 10 months in used barrels (85%) and new barrels (15%).
The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Dame Voyageuse jumps out of the glass with ripe strawberry, red and black plum, licorice and peppery nuances. Shaped by ripe tannins, the 2022 is a rock-solid La Dame Voyageuse that will benefit from at least two more years of cellaring. A complex finish rounds it up.
90% Grenache, 4% Syrah, 4% Mourvèdre, 1% Vaccar èsse, 1% Counoise. Vinified in stainless-steel tanks (85%) and old oak barrels (15%). Aged for 10 months in oak barrels (15% new, 85% old). Certified organic and biodynamic. Tank sample. Tasted blind. A fresh nose with purple fruits, blueberry and garrigue. Rounded, ripe and dense mouthfeel with huge concentration of dark fruits, lavender, garrigue and fig jam. This is intense, hedonistic, and delicious with it. There is a nice graphite mineral layer beneath the vibrant blue fruits, which gives a sense of freshness. (AC)
