2013 Nuits St Georges

Healthy bright red. Slightly reduced aromas of bitter cherry and lees. Sweet but reduced, with cranberry and raspberry fruit flavors complicated by earthy and saline traces. Boasts good lift but finishes with slightly tart-edged acidity.

Less reduction and more fruit on the nose than one’s used to from Gouges, but seemingly at the expense of vigour on the palate. Rather dull and tired. (AH)

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges Village had a slight reduction on the nose. The palate is supple in the mouth with crisp red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is decent depth here, a little disjointed at the moment but it should marry together nicely by the time of bottling in January.
