1993 Vosne Romanee Les Gaudichots

This small domaine in Vosne-Romanee produces solid, austere, well-made red Burgundies that require some cellar aging. I found all the 1993s to be hard and austere, with high tannin levels. I do not see them ever maturing into graceful, well-balanced wines. The fruit was not physiologically ripe, nor do the wines have any inner-core or mid-palate.
