Tasting notes
The 2015 Poesia has an intense nose with layers of black cherry, boysenberry, pressed violets and a scintilla of dark chocolate. This displays wonderful delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe red fruit, a fine bead of acidity. Very harmonious with a silky smooth finish that is irresistible. This is a beautiful Saint-Émilion that will give 15-20 years of drinking pleasure. Tasted at the Poesia vertical in Saint-Émilion.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Poesia opens with gorgeous kirsch, black cherry compote and baked plums notes with hints of blueberry pie and spice box plus a touch of rose hip tea. Full-bodied, the palate delivers lovely savory layers that are well-framed by chewy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and layered.
Hélène Garcin's 2015 Poesia is soft, open-knit and persistent. Black cherry, mocha, plum and bittersweet chocolate give the wine its distinctive dark personality. There is good depth to this exotic, ripe, yet midweight Saint-Émilion, but less in the way of the textural resonance that is typically such a big part of Poesia’s allure. Unfortunately, there is not much of the sheer appeal of the 2015 vintage here.
The 2015 Poesia is soft, supple and inviting. Sweet black cherry, plum, smoke and mocha are some of the notes that are pushed forward. The 2015 is an attractive wine, but it is slender and lacks some of the depth that is typical of the year. The 2015 is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.
