Tasting notes
This has fresh blueberry and brambleberry aromas with violets, some iron-like elements, coal smoke and cassis. The palate is very fresh and elegant and the very bright acidity is a highlight. This is a vintage that has a very restrained feel with a sense of containment. Reserved, yet long. Drink or hold.

Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2012 Shiraz Old Bastard (in refrence to the 1863 vines that produce this wine) reveals a complex, enticing nose of red and black fruits - mulberries, red currants and cherries - with nuances of sandalwood, dried roses, underbrush, Provence herbs and star anise. Medium to full-bodied, it is maturing with great elegance and grace on the palate, offering multilayered earth, spice and fruit flavors supported by very fine-grained tannins and balanced freshness, finishing with excellent length.
