Tasting notes
The 2022 Rouge from Domaine de la Solitude (Pessac-Léognan) reveals a gourmand, fresh bouquet of cassis, mulberries and flowers. Moderately weighted, supple and satiny, it's perfectly balanced with a juicy core of fruit, velvety tannins and bright acids, concluding with a fresh, sweet and penetrating finish. This blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot matured for 18 months in a combination of new (35%) and used barrels. It is a charming, exquisite wine.

Spicy red and black fruits, savory tobacco, spicy wood, and leather notes all shine in the 2022 Domaine De La Solitude, a medium-bodied 2022 with a beautiful overall balance, a supple, layered mouthfeel, and nicely integrated tannins. It plays on the more complex, elegant end of the spectrum and is already hard to resist, yet it should easily evolve for 15+ years or more. The blend is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, all raised in 35% new oak.
The 2022 Domaine de la Solitude has a bouquet that grabs your attention with upfront blackberry, raspberry, iris flower and incense scents. The palate is medium-bodied, rounded and smooth, with softish tannins and no hard edges. This is a Domaine de la Solitude designed to slip down the throat with ease.
Very perfumed, bright and crunchy. Rose petals, lemons and other citrus fruits. Medium body with citrus and raspberry flavors. Linear and long with lovely energy and vivacity. Drinkable now, but better in a couple of years.
