Score 87/100 · Drink 2013-2017, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2013

The 2011 Nuits-St-Georges Les Chaliots comes from a single 0.95-hectare parcel in the titular lieu-dit. It offers a light bouquet with dark cherries, bergamot and cold black tea. The palate feels just a little oaky on the entry with touches of tart red cherries, orange rind and cedar toward the finish. Fine. Drink now-2017. Two doors down from Anne Gros is cousin Michel. I have been visiting here for a number of years and Michel always makes thoughtfully crafted wines. I sometimes do find them a little on the oaky side, which occasionally denudes them of some finesse, but they are very consistent. Importer: Martin Scott Wines; www.martinscottwines.com
