The 2018 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits comes from 1.53 hectares of vine. It is more backward and a little more sultry than the Bourgogne Rouge at this stage. The palate is more generous, offering good body, plenty of tart red cherries and strawberry and touches of orange peel toward the finish. It might need six months in bottle just to cohere a little, but should drink nicely for up to three years.
