Fantastic juicy red fruit on the nose, with the sort of ease and power that Burgundians only dream of. Some soy and liquorice on the palate, which has a lightness of body that doesn’t quite match the perfume and fruit intensity. (RH)

The 2013 Incline Pinot Noir comes from three vineyards in the Dundee Hills AVA plus two in Carlton, matured in 30% new French oak. It has a slightly smudged redcurrant and cranberry scented bouquet that veers more to Morello cherry with time, later a faint floral scent of iris. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, dark berry fruit laced with bay leaf and a pinch of brown spice, moderate depth towards the finish that is harmonious and opens nicely in the glass. It is a commendable debut. Around 850 cases produced.
