The 2021 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru is quite reduced on the nose, thereby depriving it of terroir expression and personality. The palate is fresh and crisp, quite edgy in style thanks to the citric thread of acidity. However, I really dislike the finish, which feels bitter and attenuated. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Meursault Charmes 1er Cru has a strict, much more backward, reticent nose than the expressive Poruzot. The palate is more vocal with Clementine, stem ginger and light nectarine notes, gaining weight towards a slightly peach and still quite spicy finish. Give this time - patience required.
