The 2021 Barbaresco Chiaramanti is floral, savory and expressive. Rose petals, sage, mint, orange peel and pine give the bouquet a good deal of brightness to play off the wine's mid-weight, ethereal personality. This is a pretty quirky Barbaresco, with strong savory notes that are not typical but sit on the edge of being dominant.

Barbaresco – Rio Sordo. Mid ruby. Slow to open up and with brooding, sweet intensity. Juicy, fresh and concentrated with earthy tones over raspberry fruit. Bags of chewy tannins on the finish with plenty of fruit to match, but not heavy at all. (WS)
